How to set up your TapContact card

Setup takes about two minutes on your phone. No app needed — just tap the card and follow the prompts. Pick your card type below.

1

Tap your card on your phone

Hold the card against the back of your phone, near the top (iPhone) or the middle (Android). A notification or web page will open — tap it to start setup. No app needed.

2

Choose “Business Card”

When asked what type of card this is, choose Business Card to share your contact profile.

3

Log in or create an account

Use your best email address — it’s where your dashboard, contacts and notifications live. Already have an account? Just log in.

4

Connect the card to your account

Tap Connect to your email. You can share access with others or reset the card to a different account later.

5

Name the card

Give it a reference name (e.g. “Tim’s card”) and choose whether it’s yours or for someone else. If it’s for someone else, enter their email and they’ll get the notifications.

6

Create or connect a profile

Create a new profile with your name, photo, phone, email, website and socials — or connect the card to a profile you’ve already made. You can switch profiles anytime.

7

You’re live — test it

Tap the card on your phone again. Your profile opens instantly, and people can hit Add to Contacts to save your details.

1

Tap your card or plate on your phone

Hold it against the back of your phone, near the top (iPhone) or the middle (Android). Tap the notification or page that opens to start setup.

2

Choose “Google Review Card”

When asked what type of card this is, choose Google Review Card.

3

Log in or create an account

Then tap Connect to link the card or plate to your account so you can manage it and see tap stats.

4

Add your Google review link

Search for your business and pick it from the list — we’ll build the review link for you. Or paste the link from your Google Business Profile. Add an optional name like “Front counter plate”.

5

Link the QR code

Keep the setup page open and scan the printed QR code with your phone camera. The page updates automatically when it’s linked — then tap Continue. You can skip this and do it later from card settings.

6

Done — test a tap

Tap or scan again and it should open your Google review page straight away. Place it at your counter, reception or table where happy customers pause.

Tapping tips

  • iPhone: hold the card near the top edge on the back. Works on iPhone XS and newer with the screen unlocked.
  • Android: hold it near the middle of the back. Make sure NFC is on in Settings → Connected devices.
  • Remove thick or metal phone cases if the tap doesn’t register.
  • Hold still for a second — NFC needs a moment to read.
  • No NFC? Scan the printed QR code with your camera instead.

After setup

  • Edit your profile or Google link anytime from your dashboard — no reprinting.
  • See tap stats and collected contacts.
  • Share access or reset a card to a different account.

Common questions

Unlock your phone, check NFC is turned on (Android), and try a different spot on the back of the phone. Thick or metal cases can block NFC. You can always scan the QR code instead.

No problem. Log in, open the card from your Cards page and change its settings, or contact us and we’ll reset it for you.

Yes. When naming the card, choose It’s for someone else and enter their email. They’ll receive the notifications and you’ll keep access to manage it.

The easiest way is to search for your business during setup and pick it from the list. Otherwise, open your Google Business Profile, choose Get more reviews, and copy the link.

No. Your profile or Google review page opens in their phone’s browser. Anyone without NFC can scan the QR code.
